Subject: CB3 End-of-Sale Announcement

Dear customer of UR,

After a decade of service and having helped boost productivity in manufacturing environments around the world, Universal Robots’ CB3 product line will end sales in 2024.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that CB3 will no longer be available for purchase within your territory, and to give you practical information on Last Time Buy opportunities for your expected demand.

Why is the CB3 series being phased out?

When introduced in 2014, the CB3 product line provided ground-breaking collaborative technology for manufacturers. Though it has demonstrated lasting value to many customers, we have decided to phase out production so we can focus on support for our newer e-Series cobots and our high payload cobots, the UR20 and UR30. We have ambitious plans for our hardware and software which will only be realized with this newer technology.

Ordering and delivery timelines

We expect to see significant last demand for our CB3 product line and want to ensure that CB3 robots can be ordered until June 30, 2024 for deliveries until December 31, 2024.

Please let your UR representative know about your end-of-sale demand, and ensure that we have received and confirmed purchase orders no later than June 30, 2024. Deliveries can be requested throughout 2024 until December 31. In the case of demand beyond 2024 for CB3 products, we need to align on the last time buy planning within the above time frame in 2024.

Spare parts and repairs

CB3 robots can be serviced and repaired in UR Service Hubs for 8 years, through to December 2032. CB3 spare parts can be ordered through to December 2032.

Transition to e-Series

We recommend transitioning your new automation solutions based on CB3 robots to the e-Series product line. The e-Series product line has been in the market since 2018 and is a well proven product family with a solid quality foundation and MTBF performance. Please reach out to our application experts to learn more about how easy the migration to e-Series is and what additional value the e-Series platform has to offer.

CB3 robot programs can be imported directly into e-Series PolyScope 5. A quick guide on transferring programs can be found here: Quick Guide CB3 to e-Series. Your local UR representative will be your primary contact through this transition process.
