Security Notice - Universal Robots Support Website
On April 20, 2026, we identified that our support website www.universal-robots.com/support had been compromised by an unauthorized third party. We immediately initiated our incident response process.
The site was unavailable while a leading cybersecurity firm conducted a full forensic investigation.
Analysis shows that a malicious payload was introduced at 16:15 UTC on April 20, 2026. The site was taken offline at 19:23 UTC the same day, meaning the maximum possible exposure window was three hours and eight minutes.
The attack involved the use of a sophisticated, blockchain-backed malware framework that injects malicious JavaScript into a compromised website. This type of malware presents visitors with convincing and alarming alerts that falsely claim their device is infected or that a browser update is required. Visitors are prompted to click a link or run a command to resolve the issue. These alerts are entirely fraudulent and are not connected to Universal Robots.
Importantly, our initial investigation has found no evidence that company or customer sensitive data has been accessed or compromised.
We have notified the relevant regulatory and legal authorities in accordance with applicable data protection and cybersecurity legislation, including within required reporting timeframes.
Visitors who accessed www.universal-robots.com/support on April 20, 2026, between 16:15 UTC and 19:23 UTC, may have been exposed to these fraudulent alerts. Visitors who accessed the site outside of this time window were not exposed to the malicious payload.
