General Information
| Description |
This guide is for users and system integrators who manage robot images on Universal Robots Control Boxes. Start with the Control Box topic that matches your hardware, then follow the linked procedures.
|
| When to use |
Use this guide when you must write a full robot image, replace removable storage, recover a Control Box, or manage the robot disk with Robot Tools.
Never attempt to replace the flashcard without prior guidance from UR Technical Support.
|
| When not to use |
Do not write a full robot image for a regular software update. A URUP file or the PolyScope update screen updates the installed software without replacing the storage media. For a regular software update, open the Control Box topic that matches your hardware, then follow the linked PolyScope 5 or PolyScope X update procedure in this guide. Robot Tools applies only to CB7 with PolyScope X. Do not use Robot Tools on CB2, CB3, or CB5.6.

Universal Robots recommends that you do not attempt to repair, adjust, or otherwise intervene in the mechanical or electrical systems of the robot without first consulting a UR-certified service engineer. Any unauthorized intervention voids the warranty. Only qualified personnel should perform service-related operations and troubleshooting. Before performing service-related operations, stop the robot program and disconnect the main power to any potentially dangerous tool on the robot or in the surroundings. In the event of a defect, Universal Robots recommends ordering new parts from the Universal Robots distributor where the robot was originally purchased. Alternatively, order parts from the nearest distributor. Distributor details are available on the official Universal Robots website at www.universal-robots.com.
