Magswitch SmartMagGrip E30

The CoBot SmartMagGrip E30 is designed specifically to work well in the collaborative robot environment. It incorporates all of the same features as a typical Magswitch E-Series tool, including Variable Field Output (VFO) and integrated sensing technology. The VFO allows for adjustability of the magnetic strength between 0 and 100% for de-stacking, picking single parts, or picking multiple parts. The integrated sensing technology can be used to determine or confirm the proper part is picked. The parts are taught to the tool through a simple learning process. The Cobot SmartMagGrip E30 is currently supported with direct integration to Universal Robots through the Tool IO connector with a URcap communicating via RS-485.

Powered by UR g-Series and PolyScope X

UR g-Series robots deliver higher power at the tool flange – 24 V and 48 V, with 5 A peak and 3 A continuous. Magnetic gripping is power hungry, and that is where the platform matters. The E30 draws its 1 A straight from the flange, so the magnet is driven directly, with no external power supply and no extra cabinet wiring. The same power budget supports larger Magswitch tooling as cells move to heavier plate. Combined with UR17g-1300 and UR18g-950 payload, a single cell covers a much wider range of ferrous parts.

PolyScope X completes the picture. The ready-to-use E30 URCap runs the whole routine on the teach pendant, so integration is simple and the cell reaches production faster.
