Validation Indicators

Description

Starting in SW 10.14.0 for PolyScope X, validation errors are shown with notification count badges and left-border highlights instead of yellow icon buttons.

Validation indicators tell you when program or settings input fails validation—for example, when a command node is incomplete, a reference is missing, or an expression is invalid.

Previously, yellow icon buttons marked validation errors in the Sidebar, Main navigation, program tree, and settings dialogs. The updated design is cleaner and less intrusive while still showing where errors exist.

Validation indicators are not the same as safety faults, E-stop states, or controller error dialogs.

How it works

  • In the Sidebar and Main navigation, a notification count badge on an icon shows how many validation errors exist in that area.

  • In the program tree, invalid command nodes are marked with a left-border highlight instead of a yellow icon.

  • A program tree node is shown as invalid only when that node itself is invalid.

  • A parent node in the program tree is shown as invalid only when it is collapsed and contains invalid child nodes.

  • In move command settings dialogs—such as Direction, Move C, Move P, Move To, Moves To, and Path—invalid tabs use the standard tab validation state instead of yellow icons.

To find and fix validation errors

  1. Look for notification count badges in the Sidebar or Main navigation, or for left-border highlights in the program tree.

  2. Tap the icon or node with the indicator to open the area that contains the error.

  3. Review the highlighted node or invalid tab and complete or correct the required input.

  4. When the input is valid, the badge, border highlight, or tab indicator is removed automatically.
