Overview
sBot Speed2 - URCap is a safety system designed to safeguard robotics applications, allowing free access to the UR robot. This system includes two laser scanners that monitor the hazardous area around the robot. Thanks to the configuration software included in the system, configuring the safety laser scanners is intuitive and can be done directly using the teach pendant.
Thanks to the two nanoScan3 safety laser scanners, approaching persons can be detected over a range of up to 360-degrees. The laser scanners, together with the software and detailed documentation, allows you to easily implement a safe application where the safety functions have been tested by SICK and where compliance with the relevant standards is ensured.
The easy-to-use safety system is designed to work with material handling applications and helps you to achieve safety without compromising productivity.
During operation, the robot reduces the speed and, if necessary, stops when a detected person gets too close to the robot working space. The robot automatically resumes full-speed operation as soon as the person leaves this space, providing you with the highest productivity.
Specifications
How does it work?
- Set-up and verification: the configuration software tool nanoScan3 Tool - URCap (included) makes it easy and fast to configure the safety laser scanners directly on the UR teach pendant thanks to smart features visualised through the GUI: Smart Field definition, Field Teach-In, Automatic Field Fusion and smart walls. In addition, the tool ensures easy validation + reporting.
- Operation: the safety laser scanners nanoScan3 Pro are constantly monitoring the hazardous area around the robot. Thanks to the monitoring of the hazardous area with 2 protective fields, it makes possible to dynamically reduce and then stop the robot movement when a person gets too close to the robot working area. As soon the person leaves the space, the robot recovers its operating speed and becomes productive again.
