Overview
The Signal Multi LED URCap brings professional multi-channel LED control to Universal Robots without requiring any manual URScript programming. Complex signaling systems with up to 5 independent LED outputs plus a dedicated buzzer channel can now be configured entirely through an intuitive PolyScopeX interface.
Traditional LED control requires extensive URScript knowledge, manual bit manipulation of digital outputs, and maintenance of lookup tables for robot status codes. The Signal Multi LED URCap eliminates this complexity by providing a visual configuration interface where each LED channel can be assigned its own trigger: robot mode changes, safety status events, runtime states, or direct program commands.
Each of the 5 LED slots operates completely independently with its own digital output assignment, trigger condition, and behavior pattern.
A sidebar widget provides real-time monitoring of all channels, while an integrated event log tracks every switching operation for rapid troubleshooting and process optimization. The included program node enables precise LED control at specific points in your robot application. Perfect for integrators building complex production cells with multi-tier signal towers, or operators who need clear visual feedback for different machine states.

How Does it Work?:
After installing the URCap in PolyScopeX, open the Application Node to configure your LED setup. For each of the 5 available LED slots, assign a digital output, select a trigger type (robot mode, safety status, runtime status, or URScript command), and define the desired behavior when that trigger activates. The buzzer channel can be configured separately with its own output and trigger conditions.
The URCap communicates with the robot controller via the RTDE (Real-Time Data Exchange) interface to monitor all relevant robot states: protective stops, reduced mode, e-stop status, program running/paused/stopped, and operating modes. When a configured trigger condition is met, the corresponding digital output is switched automatically.
During operation, the sidebar widget displays the real-time status of all active channels, showing which LEDs are currently on and why they were triggered. The integrated event log records every switching operation with timestamp and trigger reason for later analysis.
For manual control, simply use the included program node to switch specific LED channels at precise points in your robot program – the URCap handles all bit manipulation and output management automatically.
Does it have a URCap?: Yes
