The Signal LED URCap brings intelligent status visualization to Universal Robots without requiring any manual URScript programming. Control your existing signal towers, warning lights, and buzzers directly through an intuitive PolyScopeX interface that automatically responds to robot state changes.

The URCap monitors robot mode, safety status, and runtime state via RTDE protocol and switches outputs automatically. This enables you to signalize the current status of your robot, even when the program isn’t running!

A real-time sidebar widget shows the current status of all configured lights and buzzer, while the included program node enables precise control at specific points in your robot application. All configuration persists across reboots and updates, stored safely in the robot's persistent memory. No external PC is required, no additional controllers needed – everything runs within the PolyScope X ecosystem.

How Does it Work?:

After installing the URCap in PolyScopeX, open the Application Node to configure your signal lights. Assign 3 digital outputs on your robot. Then assign colors to the robot events. You can choose from robot mode changes (manual, automatic), safety status (e-stop, protective stop, reduced mode, safeguard stop), or runtime state (program running, paused, stopped).

The URCap connects to the robot controller via the RTDE (Real-Time Data Exchange) interface to continuously monitor all relevant robot states. When a configured trigger condition is met, the corresponding digital output switches automatically. For example, configure green light to activate when the program is running, yellow when paused, and red during e-stop – the URCap handles all the logic.

During operation, the sidebar widget displays the real-time status showing which lights are currently active and why. For manual control at specific program points, use the included program node to switch individual colors or turn the buzzer on or off.

All bit manipulation and output management happens automatically in the background.
