Aurora VGR Assistant

Available as an add-on tool for Zebra’s Aurora Design Assistant, Aurora VGR Assistant empowers collaborative robot users, including those with limited machine vision experience, to bring 2D vision guidance and machine vision inspection tasks to leading collaborative robot models. Aurora VGR Assistant provides all the tools needed to easily configure and deploy common 2D VGR applications while leveraging Zebra’s proven and trusted machine vision technology.

Aurora VGR Assistant allows end users to increase the flexibility of collaborative robot cells by managing part position and environment variability. For small and medium-sized businesses in manufacturing with high-mix, low-volume production, common applications where 2D VGR performs well include machine tending, packaging and tool guidance.

The software comes pre-installed on 4Sight EV7 industrial vision controllers or as an update for existing units. Aurora VGR Assistant is optimized for Zebra CV60 GigE Vision cameras but also supports a wide range of GigE Vision compliant industrial cameras. A wide variety of accessories such as lenses, lighting and cabling are also available.

How Does it Work?:

• Users start with setting up the VGR application in the Aurora VGR Assistant browser-based interface.
• Once the project is deployed, users can use the URCap to accelerate the remaining steps before going into production. The interface allows to easily trigger Aurora VGR Assistant functionalities while providing program templates to accelerate robot program configuration.
