VISOR®️ Robotic is a powerful and easy-to-use vision sensor solution for 2D robot guidance with Universal Robots. It enables robots to locate parts on trays, feeders, belts, workstations, and other handling areas, making it ideal for pick-and-place, assembly, material handling, machine loading, feeding, and quality-related applications.
In combination with the VISOR®️ Robotic URCap, the vision sensor connects directly to the UR robot system and guides users through the complete setup of vision-guided robotics applications. The URCap includes step-by-step camera calibration, guided commissioning, live image display with part position visualization, backup functions, QuickStart job sets, and prepared program routines for pick-and-place tasks.
The solution is designed for fast commissioning and high flexibility. A new program can be set up quickly thanks to simple VISOR®️ configuration, guided calibration, predefined routines, and QR codes linking to tutorial videos for each step. Even robot programmers without deep vision experience can set up applications in a short time.
With robust part detection, integrated calibration routines, and support for up to eight VISOR®️ Robotic sensors in parallel, the system provides a scalable solution for reliable robot guidance in industrial environments.
Powered by UR g-Series and PolyScope X
UR g-Series robots bring 1 Gb Ethernet directly to the tool flange. Mounted eye-in-hand, the VISOR® Robotic connects to that interface, so part position data travels down the arm and external cabling comes out of the cell. Fewer cable runs on the robot arm mean fewer accidental disconnects and simpler maintenance. On e-Series and earlier UR robots the VISOR® Robotic is fully compatible, but external cabling is still required.
In PolyScope X the ready-to-use VISOR® Robotic URCap guides the whole workflow, Calibrate → Locate → Pick, with hand-eye calibration, a live image of the detected part position and the Easy Pick node for prepared pick-and-place routines. Setup and operation stay on the teach pendant, so no external PC is needed in the cell.

How Does it Work?:
The VISOR®️ Robotic vision sensor detects the position of parts or work areas and sends the position data directly to the Universal Robots controller. The URCap provides the interface between the sensor and the robot and guides the user through the required setup steps.
First, the VISOR®️ Robotic sensor is connected and found in the network. The user then configures the vision job and performs the camera calibration. The calibration process establishes the relationship between the camera and the robot coordinate system.
After calibration, the URCap supports the user when setting up the robot program. Prepared routines and the Easy Pick node help create pick-and-place applications step by step. During operation, the vision sensor locates the part, displays the live image with the detected position, and transfers the position data to the robot so it can move to the correct target.
