CAPTRON TCP Calibration Sensor
This solution combines a high‑precision TCP laser sensor with an intuitive URCap software to automatically measure, check, and calibrate the Tool Center Point (TCP) in industrial robotic applications. In processes such as dispensing, welding, soldering, or machining, tools change over time due to wear, deformation, or replacement, directly impacting accuracy and product quality. Automated TCP recalibration ensures consistent precision after tool changes, maintenance, at the start of shifts, or even after each process cycle.
Overview
This solution combines a high‑precision TCP laser sensor with an intuitive URCap software to automatically measure, check, and calibrate the Tool Center Point (TCP) in industrial robotic applications. In processes such as dispensing, welding, soldering, or machining, tools change over time due to wear, deformation, or replacement, directly impacting accuracy and product quality. Automated TCP recalibration ensures consistent precision after tool changes, maintenance, at the start of shifts, or even after each process cycle.
The URCap is designed for easy integration, allowing users to implement complex TCP measurement workflows with minimal effort, often in less than 30 minutes. The system supports calibration, automatic recalibration, and tool measurement (length and diameter).
It is optimized for rotationally symmetrical tools such as welding rods, dispensing needles, plasma nozzles, drills, and milling cutters. Non‑symmetrical tools like grippers or cameras can also be calibrated using a measuring mandrel.
By enabling regular, automated TCP inspection, the solution increases accuracy and product quality, reduces scrap and rework, and minimizes downtime, resulting in more reliable, efficient, and cost‑effective robotic operations.
