Spain’s leading automotive industry magazine, AutoRevista, celebrated its 28th Annual Industry Leaders Awards last week in Madrid, where Universal Robots was honored with this year’s Award for Technological Innovation.

The prize, which was received by Jordi Pelegri, Business Development Manager in Spain & Portugal at Universal Robots, was given to the company in recognition of:

“The way it has radically transformed industrial robotics and progressively consolidated a position of maximum relevance in certain production processes in the automotive industry, with the perspective of greater growth and contribution of technological value in the future.”

First published in 1959, AutoRevista is the only magazine in Spain that reports on the issues facing the value chain in the automotive industry, including news and features about OEMs, tier 1, 2 & 3, R&D, raw materials suppliers, logistics, new technologies and industrial equipment. Aimed at decision takers in the purchasing area of car manufacturing plants, components and equipment suppliers as well as other businesses that make up the corporate structures of the production and distribution chain of the automotive industry, the magazine is published monthly in English and Spanish, and has a combined readership of nearly 30,000 car industry professionals across its print and online versions.

Since 1991, AutoRevista has held its annual Leaders of the Year Awards, where the magazine’s editors endeavor to highlight and honor the outstanding contributions made to the automotive industry by certain individuals or businesses. Universal Robots was selected this year for the Technological Innovation Award and takes its place in the hall of fame alongside some of the best-known brands in the car making business, including Bosch, Bayer, BASF, Hexagon Metrology, ZF, and Siemens, amongst many others.

“Our innovation has been possible because the automotive sector has always had faith in our project and believed that industrial robotics could be and do so much more. Some of the biggest names in the industry, such as MANN+HUMMEL, Continental, Nissan and Groupe PSA are enjoying the benefits of our collaborative robot solutions and this support from these and other key players in the car making sector has in turn been our springboard to other sectors and other applications,” says Jordi Pelegri as he received the prize.

“We would also like to thank all our partners who, with their dedication and commitment to innovation, have made it possible for us to reach the milestone of more than 27,000 UR collaborative robots installed around the world,” he added.
