Universal Robots hosts ISPE Pharma 4.0 event

UR President JP Hathout gives welcome address at ISPE conference

September 25, 2025:  Universal Robots (UR) and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) today hosted an International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) conference with the theme: Robotics and AI – Pharma 4.0 at their robotics headquarters in Odense, welcoming leading pharmaceutical automation experts, solution partners, and industry innovators.

The full-day event brought together more than 120 participants, including robotics leaders from top pharmaceutical companies. Attendees experienced a dynamic program of executive presentations, AI keynotes, panel discussions, and hands-on tours of our production facilities and partner solution booths.

A platform for collaboration and transformation

The conference opened with a welcome from ISPE and Universal Robots, followed by an executive address from President of the Teradyne Robotics Group Jean-Pierre Hathout, and a company presentation by VP of Technology Anders Beck. The agenda featured keynote speakers from Takeda and Nvidia, as well as a panel on Robotics & AI in Pharma which included James Davidson, Chief AI Officer at Teradyne Robotics.

Throughout the day, guests rotated between our state-of-the-art showroom, interactive partner booths, and guided production tours, gaining firsthand insight into how advanced automation can support pharmaceutical manufacturing. Solution partners – including Technicon, SICK, Accenture, Weiss Robotics, and others – demonstrated GMP-compliant automation, digital twin technologies, and advanced robotics for pharmaceutical applications.
