The Scorpion Gripper is designed for Press Brake applications to mimic as many of the movements that a human operator uses, whilst maintaining full control of parts. The basic gripper has 4 suction cups, each with its own individual circuit allowing the operator to choose the circuits required for picking different parts. The circuits come with feedback for guaranteed picks, and blow off for guaranteed release. The cups are on a rotary cylinder which is capable of 90 degree and 180 degree rotation with feedback for greater control and manipulation of parts.
The gripper also includes a high resolution distance sensor to give the robot the ability to determine stack sizes, and check in case of double picks. The gripper also comes with accessories which can be added to the gripper for more difficult picks and easier manipulation of parts. Accessories include pinch grippers to hold parts on their edge, and extended suction cups to allow picking of larger parts.
