TP7 Operation and Troubleshooting

Description

The TP7 uses a different start-up process than previous Teach Pendants from Universal Robots.

 

The TP7 follows its own start-up procedure, which is independent of the CB7 Core.

Under normal operating conditions, you see a smooth and fast start-up process, and PolyScope X appears on the screen.

 

The TP7 starts first and then establishes a connection to the CB7 Core and the robot arm. Then it may initiate an update procedure and continue with standard start-up.

 

Any deviation from this triggers the following conditions:

  • Disconnected (Unresponsive)

  • Disconnected (Update error)

  • Disconnected (Network error)

  • Disconnected (Unspecified error)

 

TP7 USB port

The USB port on the TP7 can only be used for attaching a mouse or keyboard.

It can not be used for updating image or software from a USB drive.

 

Normal start-up process

The TP7 goes through the following steps during a normal start-up procedure:

  1. Power on.

  2. System start up.

  3. Establish connection to the CB7 and the robot arm.

  4. System on.

 

Update process

The TP7 goes through the following steps during a normal start-up procedure, including system update:

  1. Power on.

  2. System start up.

  3. Establish connection to the CB7 and the robot arm.

  4. Updating system.

  5. Update success.

  6. System on.

 

Disconnected (Unresponsive)

If the connection between CB7 Core and the TP7 is unresponsive, it retries to establish a connection to the CB7 Core.
If it cannot establish a connection, restart.

Disconnected (Update error)

 

If the same error message persists, please contact Universal Robots Service.

 

Disconnected (Network error)

Check the cable connection between the CB7 Core and the TP7.

 

If the same error message persists, please contact Universal Robots Service.

 

Disconnected (Unspecified error)

If the TP7 experiences an unspecified error, restart the system.
