Operational Mode

Description

Operational mode selection is a function in Safety Overview that enables you to choose manual and automatic operational mode, and local and remote mode.

Manual Mode When this mode is activated, you can program the robot. You can modify and save programs and installations. The speeds used in must be limited to prevent injury. When the robot is operating, a person could be positioned within reach of the robot.

Automatic Mode When this mode is activated, the robot can only execute a program of predefined tasks. You cannot modify or save programs and installations.

Remote Mode. When this mode is activated, you are prevented from controlling the robot from the Teach Pendant. Buttons, screens, and other actions are disabled, and you are taken to the Operator Screen. This mode meets the requirement stated in Single Point of Control and designed to enhance external connectivity while maintaining a secure and operator-friendly interface.

Local Mode. When this mode is activated, you control the robot from the Teach Pendant.

 

To access Mode Selection
  1. Tap the Safety overview/checksum icon in the sidebar.

     

    The Safety Overview screen appears in the main screen. On the left side, you see the Safety Overview functions:

    • Mode Selection

    • Robot Limits

    • Joint Position

    • Joint Speed

    • Planes

    • Input

    • Output

    • Hardware

    • Three Position

 

On the right side, you can see the buttons and tabular data of the chosen function.

 

 

In the Mode Selection function are found two selections:

  • Select Operational mode. You can choose either Manual or Automatic.

  • Select Remote mode. Activated only when in automatic mode, and you can choose either Local or Remote.
