Universal Robots at the Hannover Messe 2019

Universal Robots presents flexible automation solutions for companies of all sizes at the world's largest capital goods fair, Hannover Messe, which takes place April 1-5, 2019.

Today, UR’s user-friendly, versatile and cost-effective robotic arms not only pave the way into semi-automated production for industrial groups, but also for small and medium-sized enterprises. By means of illustrative practical examples, visitors will learn how they can contribute to future-proofing industrial manufacturing processes and be individually adapted to the needs of customers and employees.

UR’s exhibition booth is divided into four sections: Machine assembly, mounting, packaging/palletising and materials processing. It provides exciting insights into a cutting-edge technology that has democratized industrial automation. The focus is on UR’s e-Series, which will be presented for the first time at the Hannover Messe. UR’s latest generation of robots is certified by TÜV Nord according to ISO 10218-1. Its safety functions are classified as category 3 PLd according to ISO 13849-1. It thus complies with the latest ISO safety standards and convinces with an even greater variety of applications and simpler programming. An integrated force-torque sensor and a redesigned user interface allow for more precise and intuitive operation.

Visitors can experience the challenges that can be met by UR robots in practical demonstrations. For example, three UR3e robot arms will work together in the “pocket lamp application” and present the guests with a torch engraved on site. In 3D Bin Picking, on the other hand, the supreme robotics discipline, a robot equipped with an image processing system removes objects from a container in which they lie around disorderly.

“We want to make automation solutions accessible to as many companies as possible,” says Helmut Schmid, General Manager for Western Europe for Universal Robots. “We have created a virtual classroom with the Universal Robots Academy so that even inexperienced users can program our robots on their own. We would like to extend this concept even further and will present a novelty in this respect at the Hannover Messe.”

You will find UR in hall 17, booth D24.

Universal Robots

We believe that collaborative robotic technology can be used to benefit all aspects of task-based businesses – no matter what their size.

We believe that the latest collaborative robot technology should be available to all businesses. The nominal investment cost is quickly recovered as our robotic arms have an average payback period of just six months.
